Many people suffer from high blood pressure. You may have borderline hypertension, and your doctor warns you will need blood pressure medication soon. There is emerging evidence that Acupuncture may be an effective treatment in lowering blood pressure. Acupuncture lowers blood pressure by exerting a regulatory effect on plasma levels of nitric oxide. Current evidence suggests that nitric oxide plays an important role in blood pressure regulation and that impaired nitric oxide bioactivity is an integral part of hypertension. There is a direct relationship between stress and high blood pressure. Acupuncture is one of the most effective stress-relief treatments, so it's not surprising that acupuncture reduces high blood pressure. There are certain points on the body that directly affect blood pressure, especially LV3 on the foot, PC6 on the wrist, and Shen men in the ear.
A new study identifies acupuncture as improving resting aortic vascular function by reducing arteriosclerosis. This is important because increased arteriosclerosis greatly increases cardiovascular risk. When undergoing treatment, we consider the patient's situation and goals and carefully develop a treatment plan to achieve the best possible outcome.
Please join us in welcoming Brian Rumpza to our team! Here's a little bit about him:
"I attended Aveda Institute of Arts in Minneapolis where I received my certification in Massage Therapy in 2024. My love of massage began when my wife suffered a workplace injury that severely limited her ability to work and caused her a lot of pain. Determined to get off of the pharmaceuticals and find real, lasting healing, she perused rehab and found the solution from massage. This sparked my interest in pursuing massage as a career in order to help others recover. I believe in open communication throughout your session. I find this yields he best results as we tailor each session to your unique needs."
I live in Andover, with my wife Elayna and our two miniature schnauzers. During my time off, I enjoy being a musician playing guitar and bass with my church and other bands, attending concerts, thrifting and taking road trips!
We are SO excited to add another massage therapist to our team. Brian specializes in deep tissue, relaxation, and trigger point therapy.
You can schedule your massage with Brian HERE. We can't wait to see you in our office!
